Your hosts...
From Eagle River, WI, home of the World Championship Snowmobile Races, Chris Reimer has been boondocking on sleds since he was a kid. In 2010, snowmobiling landed him at Togowatee Lodge in WY and winter camping/riding in Colorado's back country. He returned to the midwest searching for a longer season and consistent snowfall which led him to the UP and it's epic Lake Effect snowfall (annually 200"+). The dream of creating an adventure sports destination for kickass UP backcountry riding quickly became a reality.
Having remodeled homes, hotels and historic lodges, Reimer saw the abandoned Christie Lane Lodge as a dream project. Known for working with nearly all recycled materials Reimer tackled this project with an an abundance of salvaged materials and unique ability to work Craig's List.
Chris runs Custom Stone Installers, tile, stone and remodeling since 2005.

Anne Atwood, polar expedition producer and adaptive ski instructor, spent years working in action sports with pro-athletes, ESPN XGames, Winter Olympics, touring shows, race & ramp competitions. Rollerblade brought Anne to the midwest from LA & a few years later she joined polar explorers Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen to organize their historic journey to become the first women to ski across Antarctica, inspiring millions of kids who followed. Anne grew up working at golf, tennis & water ski resorts in S Fla & visiting a rustic, 100 year old Smoky Mountain Lodge as a family getaway - all adding to the idea of Powder Hound Lodge as an action sports focused, casual destination. An avid snowboarder, skier, mt. biker and artist Atwood fell in love with the U.P. at first visit. Currently working on Access Water series of expeditions that connect women from every continent with students to explore issues surrounding fresh water access.
